Client Education
Covid-19 Announcement: Due to the high number of applications received during the initial months of the Covid crisis, DRBC has closed to new applications. We will not reopen the on-line application process until we have worked through all applications we have previously received.
We appreciate your patience and continued support and look forward to a day when operations here at DRBC and life in the community in which we serve return to a better state. Until then, please stay safe and be well. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
DRBC Educational Focus
Education is at the core of DRBC's mission. Our commitment reaches out to those with animals in distress, our potential adopters, other rescue groups, and more! The organization focuses our teaching in the following ways:
- Staff Training: DRBC begins with itself. Our volunteers will attend seminars and receive continuing education units in a wide variety of areas including veterinary medicine, behavior training, foster care, and community service. Several of our staffers are certified trainers in their chosen area of expertise. By committing to ourselves, we make a stronger commitment to the animals and to all those we meet.

- Foster Training: DRBC works from a centralized system. All foster homes undergo a rigorous evaluation and training program. Their training includes behavior, diet, and communication components that help us and them prepare their special changes for a new home.
- Client-Focused Education: We are trained, our foster homes are trained and now it is time to share that knowledge with our adopters. Our Meet-n-Greet sessions have been designed to allow the doxie education process to be fun and informative. Come with your listening ears on as these personal sessions are aimed at more than finding a new doxie. Here are a few of the topics we cover:
- Diet
- Dental Care
- House-Training
- The Importance of Veterinary Care
- Vaccinations
- Behavior
